With less than 72 hours before my brother's wedding, I was in a pinch. I had nothing to wear to his wedding, or to the rehearsal dinner and of course a million relatives who had not seen me in years.

The pressure was on to look my best and I enlisted Lori for a fashion emergency shop. Needless to say, within 4 hours I had a great dress for the wedding, a great dress for the rehearsal dinner and wonderful separates for the weekend. Not to mention fabulous shoes and great jewelry.

Over the course of the weekend, I was thrilled to receive compliments from everyone on every single outfit I wore. When you shop with Lori, she will not rest until you look outstanding.

I can't wait to go shopping again. Thank-you Lori!

How to Wear White…Really Well

Tis the time of year to pull out those whites. I love wearing white though ivory is better for me. I am cautious when I wear white because it is a stain magnet. I find Oxy Clean and Soil U Love works well when dealing with stains on washable items.

Some updated ways to look cool and crisp in white:

  • Add darker neutral accessories when wearing all white to break it up. Try chocolate brown or  tan, nice alternative to black
  • Gold and white for evening is stunning
  • Please! no ‘white- white’ shoes/pumps… Modern look would be a nude pump or sandal
  • If you are wearing a very bright, colorful top try white pants on the bottom. I find amazing well cut pants for clients that would never wear white on the bottom
  • Keep dresses at knee length. Long white dresses get a little to bridal looking, even the casual ones
  • NEVER, ever wear white or any hue of it to a wedding. That rule stands firm.
  • A white blouse is a FAB add to any summer wardrobe
  • A white pant suit always looks very chic. Depending on fabrication it may be a splendid replacement for a cocktail dress

  • A white cardigan should be a summer staple to throw on over tops and dresses

How to Wear White

Summer whites approach…

I love wearing white…and most people do when the hot days are upon us. It looks so crisp, clean and cool.
There are many versions of this colorless color.
The very white -white and gray white are best for people with cool skin. Especially good on people with high contrasts such as dark hair and light eyes.
Off white and oyster white (gray-ish white) are good on the cool skin also, and is often best on the pale cool skin with the light hair.
Ivory, cream, ecru are best for the warm skinned people.
Whites can be very tricky under the fluorescent store lights. Take the garment to the window to get a better look at the hue. If you are trying to match whites this can be as difficult as matching black. Always bring the garment you are trying to match with you.. You will be shocked at the subtle variations in this non-color.
I used to think when ivory was worn with pure white that it was obviously a mistake. Not so. Done correctly it is one of the chicest ways to wear the two whites. Ralph Lauren rocks this combination all the time and it looks so very stylish.
